Freedom Festival 2026
July 4 @ 8:00 am - 9:30 pm

Celebrate Independence Day at one of Oxford’s favorite summer traditions! Join us on Saturday, July 4, for a full day of family-friendly fun at Oxford Lake Park and the Oxford Civic Center.
Enjoy a patriotic parade, live music, a petting zoo, tricycle and bicycle races, a pet show, free carnival games and prizes, swimming, food vendors, and a spectacular fireworks show to end the evening.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
• 8:00 AM – Around the Lake Ramble for Senior Adults – walk and get a ribbon!
• 8:30 AM – Parade Registration & Line-Up (Baseball Parking Lot)
• 8:30 AM – Cheaha Winds Community Band Performance in Liberty Park
• 9:00 AM – Freedom Festival Parade Begins! Children dressed up may walk/ride in non-motorized vehicles down McCullars Lane. *Must wear a helmet if riding*
• 9:15 AM – Opening Ceremonies at Liberty Park
• 9:30 AM – Petting Zoo (end of Civic Center building near the covered bridge); Tricycle & Bicycle Races at Liberty Park (participants must wear a helmet and bring their own bicycle or tricycle); Pet Show by the swimming pool across from Liberty Park (begins immediately following the Opening Ceremonies)
• 9:30 AM–12:00 PM – Regional Student Art Display (Room 101 in the Oxford Civic Center)
• 9:45 AM – Oxford Jump Track Exhibition
• 9:45 AM–11:30 AM – Free Carnival Games & Prizes for Children (Gymnasium)
• 11:00 AM – The Piezilla Challenge. Watch teams of two take on a 28-inch, 64-slice pepperoni pizza and a 2-liter soda in a race to finish first. Hosted by Cicis Pizza and 97.9 VOK.
• 11:00 AM–4:00 PM – City Pool Open ($2 Admission); Swim Races at 1:00 PM
